The Pledge

An homage to Elvis PresleySong by Ron Glaser & Chris FillmoreIn

In 1967 Elvis Presley came up with an oath called “The Pledge”, dedicated to his cousin
Billy Smith. It has now been put to music by two well known and talented musicians, singer Ron Glaser and guitarist Chris Fillmore. Although Ron Glaser and Chris Fillmore did not grow up together, they both were fascinated and deeply influenced by Elvis Presley since their childhood.

This common passion brought the artists together musically for the first time in the summer of 2018. During this encounter, “The Pledge ‐ an homage to Elvis Presley”, was
spontaneously created. In 2020 this musical work has been recognized as the official song of the city of Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis’ hometown.
